You’re probably wondering what all the hype is about when it comes to facial rollers but the truth is they have been around for a while. These babies are a lifesaver, my skin since using these has been looking FLAWLESS and feeling amaaazing. So after many questions, today we are going to cover what exactly are facial rollers and why you should be using one.
What are Facial Rollers?
Facial rollers are beauty tools known to increase blood flow to the skin, which helps your skincare products penetrate deeper into the skin. I love to use my face roller after applying serum or face oil, so the roller can enhance the penetration of the products’ activating the ingredients into my skin. By regularly massaging your skin with a face roller, your complexion will start to look firmer, brighter, and healthier-looking.
The most common type of face rollers I'm sure you have seen around are jade rollers made of a jade stone, and rose quartz rollers. However, you can also find other types of rollers that you babes have seen me use and have been asking me about. Today we will talk about my go-to favs and their benefits. We like options out here (LOL)!
I have loved incorporating these rollers into my morning/nighttime skincare routines especially when they are nicely chilled after being in my fridge for 30 mins or so. (Pro-Tip)*
Different Rollers, Their Benefits, and How to Use Them
Jade Roller- The power of the jade stone has been used for centuries to protect from harm and promote health and natural healing. I love using my jade roller over a sheet mask for the ultimate facial massage and to make sure the serum is getting in there. The jade roller also helps with under-eye puffiness, and tightening pores.
How to use: Using gentle pressure, perform outward and upward strokes with roller along your face and neck.
Jade Gua Sha Butterfly - The facial tool I get asked the most about and most commonly now used for lymphatic drainage facial massages. The power of a rose quartz has been used as a healing stone for the body and the heart symbolizing unconditional love, inspiring the love of beauty in oneself and others. This stone helps to soothe, comfort & calm. Also great for sensitive skin, it is believed that rose quartz has anti-aging properties helping to reduce inflammation bringing oxygen to the skin which improves tone, luster, and glow but most importantly helping to sculpt the face.
How to use: You can use a gua sha on the face and it’s best to use it with water or an oil but never on bare skin. With the gua sha tool start with the curved side on your face and glide it gently up and out, starting with the neck, jawline, chin, then cheeks. You can use the tool in small horizontal strokes over the brow bone and cheekbone to lift & sculpt.
Vibrating Facial Roller - Using sonic vibration, this amethyst-topped face massage roller vibrates at 6,000 pulses per minute to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The vibrations of this roller help relax muscle tensions
How to use: Roll around your eye socket, jawline, cheeks, and neck for an instantly more contoured profile.
Ice Roller- One of my favorite ways to start my morning. Just please don’t ice your face any longer than 5-10mins. This little baby will wake + energize your face right up!
Benefits of this roller: less puffiness + lifted effect and smaller-looking pores. With the daily use of this roller you’ll likely see that your skin is firmer like I do.
How to use: I truly recommend doing this in the morning with some tea or coffee in hand 😊, Use Upward Strokes. Concentrate on anywhere that’s puffy or bloated. Gently roll, and apply pressure as needed. Once again do not exceed 10mins of use time at a time.
